This week, at Delamode International Logistics, we welcomed 20 students from the Defence School of Logistic & Administration (DSLA).

The purpose of the day was for the students to see a live logistics operation up close and personal, and we were absolutely thrilled when Sgt Dil Bahadur KC reached out to ask for our support.

The day began with a warm welcome from Mike Thomas, Client Services Director who gave an introduction to the business.

We then moved to an IT overview & interactive quiz hosted by Chris Dodd, Head of IT. Due to advances in technology, as well as cyber threats, IT is an extremely integral part of any Logistics operation.

Tony Bonte, Freight Forwarding Manager, was on hand to offer insights into the world of freight, including updates on the Red Sea crisis.

The tour of the site, hosted by Dean McNamara, PI & Stock Control Manager, looked at Inventory management and operational flow, as well as key info from each of the below supporting sections of the business:

Inbound – Joanne Saunders, Inbound Logistics controller.
Bookings – Kelly Hamon, Bookings Supervisor.
Client Services / Pre-Retail and Reworks – Natalie Walters & Sam Cowan – Client Services Manager & Key Account Manager.
Traffic – Sandra Haines & Ben Vallis – Transport Planning Development Manager UK and EU.

The students thoroughly enjoyed their day and were full of questions and enthusiasm. It was an absolute joy to host the DSLA students, and we hope they remember us in years to come when they themselves join the wonderful Industry that is Logistics!
