Over the last few months Import Services has engaged employees in defining the values that will serve at the very core of how they communicate both internally and externally. These values will set the standard for years to come as Import Services continues to be the future of logistics.
Once the values were defined, the design of them would be integral to how they were presented. Three separate design concepts were created and a roadshow, presenting all three concepts travelled to each Import Services location; Nursling, Southampton Docks, Hedge End warehouse and Hedge End Head Office.
The three designs utilised planets, pallets and a jigsaw – each demonstrated how our values fit together.
Staff were given the opportunity to vote for their favourite design with individual voting discs. After almost a week of voting the results dictated that ‘planets’ was the preferred concept.
Jane Buckton, Import Services HR Manager comments, “This has been a wonderful exercise, firstly to involve everyone in defining our core values, but to also give staff the opportunity to decide how the values would be brought to life.” The values will now be rolled out to all Import Services locations.
