Import Services has recently been contacted by the BBC, for an opinion on UK and European trade, in a post-Brexit environment.
This update is the first in a series, where we will feedback on the key Brexit issues and their affect on supply chains.
The first update is a focus on Import Tariffs / VAT and the view Brexit will be more concerned with the administrative effort and control required to manage the new regime.
In this respect our thinking is a logistics partner must be capable of tracking order flow; serving potentially a range of new Customs jurisdictions. Hence bonded warehouse facilities and appropriate systems to manage inventory under bond, will become a prerequisite.
Import Services’ distribution centres are already set for this eventuality, capable of alleviating concern for the need to hold extra stock.
If you would like to speak with a representative of Import Services with regard to this matter and other Brexit related topics, we would be delighted to take your call or enquiry on 01489 799 500 or email [email protected]
